Daniel L. Smith is the founder and President of Kassiwi Associates, LLC.
  
Kassiwi Associates, LLC is designed to capitalize on Smith's passion for making a positive contribution by accelerating the transition of affordable technology to meet the demands of global need.

Smith founded Kassiwi Associates in August 2010 following his retirement from the Raytheon Company as Vice President and President, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems; a position he held since September 2003.

Smith has held a wide range of increasingly responsible industry positions in seven companies varying in size from <60 employees to multiple Fortune 100 enterprises during an industry career spanning three plus decades.

Smith is a retired U.S. Navy veteran serving both as an enlisted man and a commissioned officer.  He has been awarded numerous recognitions including both the Navy and Civilian Meritorious Achievement Medal. He is a proud member of the Ancient Order of Saint Barbara, a recipient of the Rodney D. Chipp Memorial Award from the Society of Women Engineers; a Lifetime member of the Surface Navy and Army Air Defense Artillery Association. He also served Australia’s Air Warfare Destroyer Principals Council. Smith co-chaired the state of Rhode Island Blue Ribbon Commission on Math and Science and proudly received the Sen. John Chafee Distinguished Citizen Award for support of the Boy Scouts. Smith currently serves on the Board of Advisors of Sensis Corporation, Syracuse NY, and is a member of the Heritage Foundation.

Smith holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Arts degrees from Chapman University, Orange, California. He and Pat have been happily married for approaching 40 years. They have two (2) children and two (2) grandchildren
